Hi everyone is different...I was in ICU 2 nights...I was vomiting from the meds......
It can depend on how severe ur symptoms r prior to surgery....nerve damage ect.....as to how long it may take to heal/recover......

Other conditions like Ehlers-Danlos....Tethered Cord......ect can delay or complicate things.

My Surgery was a Thurs....and I was released the following Tuesday.I was 48 at the time of my surgery.

U must also consider the type of surgery....I have heard there r 2 diff kinds of decompressions.....one where they open the dura and one they do not......so the more done can affect recovery.

May we ask who is ur NS, where r u going for ur surgery??

We do have a list of drs of our members as a reference for others.....if u wouldn't mind adding urs.

I was in the hospital for 4 days, ICU for 1 night. But everyone was really surprised at how fast I was healing and I've heard others say that they were there for much longer.  I was also in very good physical condition when I had mine and am still quite young (I was almost 17).
