Hi lu7997,

We are looking for a doc to get a second opinion for our sons Chiari, and I read one of your posts that you saw a doc at CC.
Were you referring to the Cleveland Clinic, and was he a specialist in Chiari. Selma had mentioned a Dr. Di.
Would so appreciate any info.

yes I was tlaking about cleveland clinic.  The doc I saw was Dr. Bamekidis at the university hospital   it is in connection with rainbow babies up there.    He was very nice.  

he said he would do surgery on mine he didn't feel it was bad enough but if other methods to get relief dont come he will see me again.  

Have you tried Akron Children's yet?   they are the best peds hospital in the area.  I would trust them with my children.  I did clinicals there through nursing school and everyone there is wonderful.  They pay less then most hospitals too, the staff and docs are all there for one reason......they love the kids

For what it's worth, IMO Dr Di is awesome. I don't know his stand with ped end of things. He is in the main CCF S building though.

Dr Mark Luciano is a children's Chiari specialist at the Cleveland Clinic as well. If you need to see someone at the Cleveland Clinic. I found this post on accident hope this information is not too late in reaching you.

Thank You, new info is always welcome. I sent you a note, I hope I did it right. I'm a bit tech challenged. We sent DS s info off to dr. Frim, in Chicago and are still waiting for his response. I have a friend who is also looking for specialist at Cleveland Clinic, and I always like to have a back up plan, so it is good to have more options.
