I also have had the whole head going numb and sometimes just my left side.. mine also comes with pain. I understand the frustration. I am waiting on a NS appointment next week. Hope everything gets easier for you
Hi...a flare or cycle depends on u and what u do....I noticed when I was really over doing things and stressed I had a flare and as long as I was pushing to overdo I had the symptoms, as soon as I said I had to slow down, things calmed down as well.
We have to listen to our bodies....do things in Moderation and rest more than most.
When I was still working I would take my days off and spend them in bed so I had the energy to go back to work the following day....if I wanted to go somewhere on my day off, I would come start home from work and get on straight onto bed...and as time went on that is how it was all the time just to be able to do my work schedule....
So look at what u do...how u do it and when u can rest or relax.
Carolyn's suggestion of a journal is very helpful for urself and ur dr to know what is going on and how to better help u.

Hello
Definitely could be CM flaring up, I would get the same thing though usually mine would be only one sided. My personal theory is that we do something that causes the brain to impact on the skull which causes more swelling, thereby suffocating a nerve. Before I had a dx, that is what I was doing every time I went for a run. The slapping of my feet on the pavement I am sure was causing my brain to swell. After a run, I would get that brain fog feeling, followed by a headache and facial numbness.
So thought it's hard to predict the cycles of flare ups, try keeping a journal of your daily activities and when this flares up and see if there is a connection.
Carolyn
Lets hope it will get better with the weather!
Have you tried prednizone, or steroids? Nsaids?
Sometimes reducing the inflammation can help with reducing pressure and inflammation in the nerves. Caffeine helps with pressure headaches a bit, I dont know if you drink coffee already of not but you could try that with the steroids? Maybe? I hope this helps or you find some relief soon.
I agree that it is cranial nerve involvement and I hope it calms down for you soon, good luck!
