Ok, so I am pretty new to experiencing symptoms and still don't know if what I feel is myofacial pain (that's what I've been told so far) or chiari. I have a lot of tight upper back and neck stiffness, some burning behind my left shoulder and pain in the back of head and neck usually just when there is low pressure. Lots of ear ringing! I really have to pace myself when I do anything strenuous.
Can anyone explain why we feel this with chiari? When you feel chiari pain, is it REAL pain or just aches and stiffness? I understand some have more severe symptoms than others, but do any of you have daily mild aches and tightness?
Hi ....yes the Chiari pain is a bit more then aches or stiffness, but that can also be attributed to Chiari...or a related condition...so, I always suggest that ALL related and non related conditions be ruled out to make sure u know what is going on and the best course of action.
It is hard to explain why we feel pain or with pressure building up with weather changes....Chiari is affecting all aspects of how our body functions....as our spinal cord is involved.....
The best I can explain y we feel it more after an activity is the area that the CSF flows up and down our spine is constricted bcuz of the cerebral tonsils that are herniated, this makes the space smaller, and when active it needs to flow faster thru this space and at a larger volume....since it is being pushed harder thru a small space we experience the symptoms of fatigue, numbness, dizziness, tinnitus and pains.....
The daily aches can be something like Ehlers-Danlos....
We are all diff as each has a diff set of conditions and issues to contend with....and until u get a DX for ALL of them it can be not only frustrating, but confusing too.
