I was taking soma, however I informed the doctor that I was feeling to grogy and miserable when I would wake in the morning. I to am allergic to flexeril so my specialist put me on 20mg lioresal ( generic name baclofen) taken one per night. Also I have found that taking 600mg neurontin (generic name gabapentin) three times per day help make the pain a little more tolerable.
Everyone is different and you will soon find a regimen that works for you. I also take a something for immediate relief of pain as well as something for depression.

That is what I have been prescribed as I was allergic to Flexeril. The first time I took it, I fell asleep immediately, but I think it was because I was so tired and miserable! I only take it at night as I have school during the day. It doesn't make me feel weird or loopy and crazy like some others do! Thank goodness. Overall, I think it helps- I have muscle spasms.

Zanaflex is my 3rd muscle relaxant that I've been on. The one thing I like about it is that it doesn't make me as sleepy as other ones. I worked really well for me in the beginning  but after 1 1/2 yrs taking it unfortunately its not as effective as it was. I hope you have success with it!
