10 yr old boy with extreme fears

I have a nephew who is 10 and who's parents are recently separated.  He and his younger brothers have moved with Mom to a new temporary house.  Prior to the move, he was showing signs of being fearful about going into dark rooms, the garage at night, etc.  Now that they have moved, he won't be in the bathroom alone, asks what every noise is and won't be alone in the new home.  His fears have escalated.  Any advice on how to handle?

maybe he knew/knows and felt/feels the stress of everything that was and is going on for him. i started like this wshen i was very young and i now have dips of chronic anxiety...not saying this is his case. most all kids go through these fears and they are normal. all i can say is that the mother has to be there for him and not get aggrivated at this....he most likley will get over it. hope this helps alittle.
