11 yo urinating in cups

My 11 year old has been wetting the bed for awhile. While it doesn't seem to bother him at all, it bothers my husband and I. We recently found a cup with a suspicious liquid inside. We asked him about it and he said that it was pee. He said that he didn't feel like walking the 5 feet from his room to use the toilet. We also found one of those toys that you fill with water and use the push button to get the hoops around the pole. That was also filled with urine. Why is he doing this? Does anyone have any idea what this is about?

Well, he's already told you that he doesn't feel like going to the bathroom so this sounds like it's pure laziness. This should not be tolerated at all. It's very unsanitary and setting him up for bad habits. You need to put a stop to it immediately. Tell him firmly that if he does this again he will be punished and then take away a privilege. Stay consistent and firm. Don't back down. This is not a debatable subject. He cannot keep doing this. It's that simple.
