13 MONTH OLD WITH BLUE LIPS AND FINGERNAILS

My 13 month old daughter for the past week has had blue findgernails and lips when she awakes from her naps.  The sitter also said her body is blochy looking.  She was diagnosed with a double ear infection a couple days ago.  Was wondering what could possibly going on with her.

Contact her pediatrician. Sometimes this reaction occurs as a result of the lower metabolism that naturally occurs during rest, and it is not a worry in that case. But you really should have this evaluated by the pediatrician and not assume it's nothing.

have you considered that the ear infections have increased fluids in sinus and cavities?  Could it be inhibiting her oxygen intake (like sleep apnea) while lying down?  Honestly, I'd have a doc look at her to rule out other complications; I thought blue lips and fingernails indicated inadequate oxygen saturation. Not trying to jump the gun, but sometimes the doc can't answer right away, and your question isn't related to child behavioural health.
