15 month old and I am concerned

I have a 15 month old daughter who has been acting some what aggressivly since she was 11 months. She started at first banging her head on the floor, or while she was in her playpen. She would rock herself and make the playpen move to a wall and then just bang her head. She has recently starting biting me and also gagging herself. She also is on an odd sleeping scheldule. My husband works night shift and comes home at 3.30am. I usually wait up on him so I am also on this scheldule. I put her to bed around 10pm at night but she will sit in her playpen(which is where she sleeps) and rock herself for hours, usually till about 2 am. She also will wake up everytime he comes home and refuse to go back to bed till about 5am. Then she wants to sleep until luch. Before she was a year old, she slept normally with no wake-ups at night. She also does not listen to no-no or respond to discipline in any way other than getting mad and throwing herself down and normally throwing herself backwards and hitting her head.  She does talk and give kisses. She can tell us if she is hungry or wants something to drink. I do not see any developmental issues and neither does her dr. Im just looking for some input on what could possibly be causing this. She is my 3rd girl and I have never expereinced this.

I think the routine you have her on maybe a factor in what is happening, she probably also sleeps during the day and  in the morning if you are up till 3-30am you say she sleeps till lunch, so the routine is not good ,I have to say that you should get her on a better schedule and yourself and it will stop her behavior, otherwise it may continue and get worse ...Good Luck

She does not stay up that late because I let her, she just will not go to bed. I am about to be starting a job that will also be this shift, so I do not need to get my scheldule messed up. What I do not understand is why she will not sleep and why she acts the way she does.

I still feel its your schedule that has her confused, until you have her sleeping at regular hours the issue will continue ,you say yourself in your first post that she is on an 'odd sleeping  schedule '.Good luck
