16 yr old daughter

16 yr old daughter

My daughter does not talk, she gives one word answers, not involved in any sports or clubs etc.  I got her a job in a donut shop and she quit after 3 days(totally terrified) She does not excel in school, all she wants to do is watch TV and listen to music and surf the net. She has a few friends but they are not involved in anything either. We've tried getting her involved but all she does is cry and wants nothing to do with anything.
Does she need to see a child psychologist?? or what else can I do.

Yes, you should definitely seek professional help. Your daughter's behavior indicates a problem, and it will not resolve itself sponteously.

No. My son was the same way all he wanted to do was play on this computer in those stupid chatroom, he didn't want to join any sports didn't have many friends and couldn't hold a job..partly cuz of lazieness i think. He also had a problem with athority..it all passed though. I sat him down and explained when I was his age I was out chasing girls and not siting in front of some machine indoors 24-7 and that he's wasting his life, he can piddle paddle with this when he's my age, he's young and needs to enjoy it while he can or he'll regret it..all I got out of him was a whatever dad. But in the corse of about a month I noticed a huge change. Goodluck!!

16 is a hard age. I didn't like school either.  How is your daughter doing now?  Do you see any changes in her?  She may be depressed but, who knows.  Pray!
