The most important action to take is for her to locate a psychiatrist to manage her medication. Your description indicates that she displays Bipolar Disorder, a type of mood disorder that requires medication as part of the treatment plan. In addition, therapy is important in order to help her with problem-solving, particularly in relationships. Beyond those two important ingredients, additional intervention will depend on the services available through her insurance and also on what is avaialble in the area of Texas where she will be living. There are intensive outpatient programs, day treatment, DBT groups, etc., but availability will be the key. Her new psychiatrist and therapist can help her with access to services.
