2 year old only wants to sleep on the floor

My Daughter is only just two and since October last year we moved her from Cot into a small baby bed. She has probably had one nights sleep through but otherwise she always tried our bed until I stopped that. Now she started pre school and insists on sleeping on the floor every night. She either goes and lies under the computer table or under her table and chairs in her room. She takes one blanket (only sometimes) and one cuddly toy. I wake up every night 2 or three times to check on her and move her back into her bed but in the morning she is always back on the floor. My problem is the floor is hard and wooden in her room and there is a very thin carpet in the lounge under the computer table but we also have two small dogs who lie under there during the day. I am afraid she is going to get bitten by a rouge flea at some stage and I am also concerned that she could get cold and uncomfortable. PLEASE HELP any suggestions? I must say I am relieved after reading many other comments that I am not alone in this. I just want a good nights sleep.

Is she sleep walking? I was a sleep walker and I often ended up in the same place every morning. As a young child I would often sleep under the table so I didnt miss any thing. I wanted to be awaken if any thing was going on. One last thing I would sleep under my bed at time cause I thought if I was there the boggy man coulnt fit under there. Many things to look at. I would say let it be for the most part or try sleeping with her in her bed.

Hi I was reading your post, and my 3 year old son does the same thing. He has slept on the floor since he was roughly 2 years old. He had a toddler bed at that time, and we even went out and bought a twin bed. He would fall asleep in bed, but then when morning came we would find him on the floor either in his room, or in our room with our dog. lol. I know he loves our dog and we have recently tried letting the dog sleep in bed with him, and it's worked! He still can be found on the floor at times, but after speaking with a child professional, they told us it's really nothing to be concerned with. The counselor also said it could be that the child finds a hard surface more comfortable than the cushy bed and to look into a mattress with a more firm cushion. One other thing he said that made sense..if the child wasent comfortable they would'nt continue to get down on the floor. Don't worry your not alone!
