3 1/2 wetting problem

My friend has a 3 1/2 year old little girl who has been potty trained for quite some time now. She has always had a few accidents, but recently they have increased to several times a day. Her mother has tried everything including leaving her in her wet clothes and nothing is wirking. She is deterimed that her daughter just doesn't want to take the time to use the bathroom. How can she encourage her to do this? She also has a problem with her picking her nose, constantly. She knows she is not supposed to do this so she will even hise so she can do this. Any advise?

It sounds like this little girl never entirley achieved mastery of toilet training. The most sensibl;e approach is to be supportive and encouraging, without unusual pressure. This is best achieved by a reward program for successful use of the toilet, as well as by periodic visits to the bathroom on somewhat of a schedule. If there is any sense that the girl is enuretic due to stress in her environment, an evaluation or consultation with a mental health clinician might be quite useful.
