My 3 1/2 yr old daughter is refusing to poop on the potty. She has been trained fairly well for peeing other than the odd accident for a year now. I have tried all sorts of incentives, stickers, candy, toys, even money. She will just say she doesn't want them. The closest we have gotten is when she has pooped but it is still stuck to her and she waddles to the potty to drop it in. She gets all excited and says she did it. We praise her as it means one less mess on the floor to clean that day. If she is in pants she just poops.
She will withhold and then gets a severe case of diarrhea, which she doesn't like, but she hasn't made the connection between the two yet. I have gon as far as having her clean out her own underwear when she poops because she doesn't like having dirty handsHand or foot spasms Hand tremor but it seems to not bother her.
I have never used pull ups and haven't used cloth diapers since she was 1yr as she developed an allergy. Everyone says stay calm, don't get frustrated but they are not the ones cleaning the messess 4 or 5 times a day sometimes.
my son did the same thing he would pee but not poop in toilet. he would poop on the floor 2 feet from toilet and it would drive me crazy. what i eventually did was offer him a prize if he went poop on the toilet.he eventually started doing it. i would remind him all day that if he pooped on toilet he would get a surprise. i didnt give him a gift everytime, after he did it for awhile i stopped giving the prize and continued to go on potty. hope this will help.
