3year old biting in school

my granddaughter has a biting problem. she is biting her classmates for no reason that what her teacher say.  
we have tried everything to try to stop this problem and nothing seams to help .we have tried biting back to hot sauce on the tounge she just get mad. what can we do? her teacher said it a big problem.

Is she delayed in her speech or language? I have seen children do this when they are having a hard time communicating with others. I made a necklace out of a teething toy for a child that was having problems with biting. We taught him to bite the necklace when he was angry instead of another child. This really helped him. She could be having sensory issues that can be identified by taking her to an Occupational Therapist. I do not believe this is happening for no reason. Maybe someone needs to observe her class to determine what is going on before she bites someone. Children very seldom do things for no reason.

I am dealing with my own 2 year old and his biting and scratching.  He scratches and bites when he doesnt get his way, or when another child takes away a toy he is playing with.  I am actually look for advice myself, so I don't have much to offer except to say I understand it is extremely frustrating for the parents.  

He is not speech delayed and does not to our knowledge have any sensory problems.  I think he just has a short fuse and he can't control his temper when he feels upset.  

I plan on calling our pediatrician for advice, but in the mean time I am going to really focus on time outs at home with a timer so he knows that its serious.

Sorry - I see your child is three.
Biting is a hard one.  I would give it a reasonable amount of time to run its course - may  two months or so and see if she grows out of it.  Sometimes it is used as a form of expression that then gets expressed in speech or play.
