4 year old daughter wants nothing to do with Potty Training! HELP!!!

My daughter just turned 4 and she wants absolutely nothing to do with potty training.  When she first turned 2 we started putting Pull Ups on her and sitting her on the potty chair.  She would go once in awhile, but that wore off quickly.  I tried sticker/reward charts, popsicles, candy, praise etc but they all work for a little bit and then fade.  She is very stubborn and gets mad/embarrassed whenever we even mention going to the bathroom.  I tried just not asking her for a week or so to take the pressure off of her, but that didn't work; she still would not go.  I tried asking her every 1/2 hour to go and sit on the toilet, but she always says she doesn't have to go and then is wet/poopy within 20 minutes.  Some people have told me to stick with it while others have told me to just be patient since it may cause her to hold it which could in turn cause problems.  

My friends and family always ask why she isn't potty trained and it is really embarrassing having to answer to everyone all the time.

She is supposed to start school in a month and if she is not potty trained she won't be able to go. I am literally at the end of my rope and don't know what to do anymore.  Please help me! I will be extremely appreciative for any suggestions/tips. Thanks so much!

i have a 4 year old daughter too, tell me about them.  i found that once i felt my daughter was ready to come off the potty, i took her out shopping to pick a fancy kids toilet seat of her choice, once that was attached to the toilet i never had problems taking her to the toilet, because the seat gave her that incentive. even when i took her out and she needed to use the public toilet without her fancy seat there were no problems at all, but give this a try and i bet you notice a difference , good luck and keep me posted
