My 4 year old son refuses to poop in the toilet. He has been using the toilet to pee for almost 2 years now but doesn't want to use it any other time. He knows when he needs to poop and won't do it in his pants, but asks me for a nappy/diaper. If I suggest using the potty or toilet he cries and gets very upset. He says he is not scared of the toilet but just can't do it! If I refuse to give him the nappy/diaper he just holds it and has done so for several days until I give in and give him the nappy/diaper, then he poops straight away. We have tried food rewards, stickers, singing and stories whilst sitting on the potty/toilet but nothing seems to work. How can I get him to start using the toilet?
