4 year old spitting

today i got a note from school that my 4 year old is spitting on the floar , i did notice since few days ago after he was sick hes been spitting and i tried taking to him every time he do it so he know is bad to spit, but he continues to do it. dont know what to do, he doesnt have any more problems in his behavior , i do notice that he do it if he get like to much saliva in his mouth and he doesnt swallow it. im really worry.

Be sure to check this out medically because insufficient or excessive amounts of saliva can have medical complications.

To manage the behavior, continue to set a firm limit and use time out (e.g., five minutes sitting quietly in a chair for any episode of spitting). You can also establish a reward system, whereby he would earn a modest reward each day he refrains from spitting (you would obtain a report from the teachers so you'll know how he did).
