4 year old step son (sexual question)

Yesterday my 4 year old step son was in his room getting dressed and was laughing, and kept saying touch it touch it.  When I went in to investigate he I realized that he was naked and asking his one year old sister to touch his penis.  I was absolutely disgusted.  He knows all about privacy already, and knows to dress with his door shut... he also knows its not ok for anyone to touch your privates.

My fear is that this in not at all normal and a sign of something worse.  He spends very limited time with his mother, and we fear what he has seen when he is in her care.  Please let me know what your opinion is on this, also what we should do if it ever God forbid happens again!

I know sexual exploration between non related children of the same age is normal, but I do not see how it could be normal for a child to want a sibling of any age to do something like that.

I would only let him get dressed and undressed in the bathroom so if his bedroom door is closed you know he is doing something he shouldnt be doing. We would think it wouldnt be normal for that to happen with sibling but I would call the doctor and ask. I would keep a close eye on him. And you are right you never know what he is seeing or hearing at his moms house.

It's normal. He knows when it gets touched it feels good. Therefore wants it touched. What you should explain is that NO ONE ELSE is allowed to touch it EVER! And that it's very important that he tells you if ANYONE touches it EVER. Dont say it threathing b/c if he is fearful to get into trouble he will not say anything. To assume he's seeing something at Mom's to pre-mature. Unless of course he's said something to give you reason to believe something is going on there. If thats case call Child Protective Services ASAP and immediately petition the court for the suppression of visitations. If you have no real reason to assume anything is going there, it's probably not. Talk to him. Ask him if he's ever seen anyone's privates. Ask him if he's shown anyone his. Ask him "child safe" questions to ensure nothing bad is going on. He's 4, he's not going to think by telling you he's getting someone in trouble so your apt to get a response. Don't forget he's young so when your looking for a specific answer be sure to ask a specific question that he's going to be able to answer. If you come up empty handed be relieved!!! Just take more time to explain that no one should touch him there and he shouldn't touch anyone else there. Explain that his little sister is too young to know better and if you catch him in the act again HE will be in timeout NOT her. Work your parental magic!!!! Good Luck
