4 year old twin girls with awful behavior problems what do I do??

My twins get into everything at home no matter where I put it. I can put things up high and still get them. They sneak things to there room, they take everything out of my cupboards, everything out of closets, there isnt anything they haven't touched and destroyed or broken. I have tired everything with them. Standing them in the corner spanked them taken toys away left nothing but their beds in their room I have sat them down and talked to them and told them what would happen if they keep doing these things. I really dont know what I can do I have had just about as much as one person can handle. I have two other children (both boys) they arent anything like my girls. Anyone have any suggestions for me and what I should try?? It only seems to be at home when they are their worst. They do a lot of this stuff in the middle of the night. They sneak out of their room after we have fallen alseep. They pretend to be sleeping so I fall asleep thinking they are out for the night it scares me that they get into things. What do I do???

You didn't mention their ages, but I sympathize with your situation, as it sounds like you've tried most everything that comes to mind for discipline.  You could try to step it up a notch and give them extended bare bottom spankings in front of the boys, using open palm and not hard enough to bruise, of course.  I've seen a couple of cases in my extended family where this has worked due to the effect of embarrassment.  You just have to spank long enough so the child doesn't think of it as a quick bump in the road.
