5 y/o playing questionably with toys

My sons teacher had to have a talk with my husband (he picks him up almost 90% of the time) about my son. She said he was sticking a toy birds beak inside a toy bears butt. At home the 3 of us talked and he said he "just did it" and after talking about anatomy and everything he told us he understands that it's inappropriate in a hygienic way since we didn't want to put any emphasis on this maybe being sexual. The only thing that made it weird (to us parents) is he says the toy has an actual hole in its butt. That he was just seeing if the birds beak would fit. There is also an elephant toy that he (and other classmates) have taken then head off of.

I was molested as a very young child for multiple years and so to be honest I am not sure what to think. I am partially paranoid because of my ties with abuse, but I also believe this may be just some new phase or behavior.

Also: We do not let out son pick or watch any movies with out us so we do not believe it is from watching something (like his teacher implied)

My only other guess that he would have "seen" this kind of behavior would be that he walked in on his father and I with out us noticing.

Please help.

And, so many times its the third kid who tries something after watching others try it - that the teacher notices.  I agree with RockRose and I think you handled it appropriately.

She seems to be very experienced, working at this school for multiple years.

I agree this is very likely just some kind of silly kid play because you are right, kids think butt and farts are hilarious.
My past just makes me nervous for my son.

Thank you so much for your reply.

Is the teacher inexperienced?

I wouldn't be concerned about a boy putting a toy bird beak in a hole in the stuffed bear's butt - sounds like a rip in the fur?

Kids that age think anything about butts is funny.  Farts,  poop,  butts,  etc.

Unless he continues to do odd things,  I wouldn't think a child who did that had "seen" it anywhere.
