5 year old daughter hearing evil voices.

My daughter is very different. She always has been. She has always been rather independent and hasn't been "close" to me since the  day she were born. Needless to say she hasn't talked to me much about things other than toys, or friends she'd like to see, or things she'd like to have... etc. Surface type things. She is also very manipulative and calculative. Very VERY smart little girl. Two nights ago I put her to bed and started digging a little to see what else she had to talk about. After just ten minutes of secret digging on my behalf, she told me that she had been having really bad nightmares, and that she didn't have them anywhere but in our house. She said that she was also visited by someone at night, who would come to her room and tell her that there is something very evil around her and that she needs to get out fast. She said that this voice was nice. She said that the other voices aren't nice, the ones that are in her head. As soon as she started to talk about these voices, she started staring into thin air, and seemed scared to tell me more. I asked her what they say to her and she said that they don't talk to her at all, that they talk to eachother and that there are boys and girls. She didn't say how many. I think she's lying to me about some details though because she told me that at school they tell her to do/say mean things to ther kids but she doesn't do them. She said that the things she wants her to do are never nice, and that indicates, to me, that they are indeed talking to her.

My daughter is usually very sweet. She knows manners, and she knows how to be a "good girl", she takes pride in doing so. This is only one side of the coin, though! When she is upset, this all changes very quickly. She will growl, and scream, and become unmanageable to the point that it's shocking. She will sit in her bed and repeat the same thing over again, for ten minutes at a time. (which seems like a long time to be stubborn, to me)...

Anyway, to wrap this all up... there are a few things that i think may be contributers to this situation. My daughter is very smart, she is very manipulative, and she has some anxiety/anger that she masks a lot in order to be a "good girl". These are things that were all fairly obvious to me, and i didn't worry so much until i found that she is hearing voices. From what i understand, hearing voices is never a good thing.

Yeah, hearing voices doesn't tend to be a good sign.  I can remember hearing voices as young as 5 or 6.  They may even contribute to her repeating statements for long periods of time - they did for me, at least when I was in trouble.  Take her to a child psychiatrist.  You need to find out more and get help for both of you.

Thanks for responding:) ...I don't know if i'm going to take her to a psychaiatrist. If i were a kid hearing voices and my mom took me to talk to someone else instead of just talking to me herself i might feel more misunderstood than i did in the first place. I'm pretty sure i have what it takes to talk to her and figure some things out with her. I know her very well, and we're open with eachother... the more i talk the more i get out of her, and the less she says she hears things... she already goes to bed without getting upset again. :) we're making progress! - also, from what i read online... it's very normal for kids to hear voices. they say not to freak out, because it will only make it worse. I'm no professional but i think at a time like this in her life she probably just needs her mom to get down to her level and understand what she's feeling. That's the approach i'm going to take, and if it doesn't work i'll take more desperate measures.

I disagree. She claims that she's hearing voices, and these voices tell her to do things. She also says she hears 'them' talking to each other. Anytime someone claims to hear audiable voices speaking to them there is a possiblity of schizophrenia. It's rare to manifest symptoms at that young an age but also not unheard of.

When schizophrenics claim that their voices tell them to do things, either to themselves or others, these are known as 'command voices'.

I understand you don't want to take her to a psychiatrist yet, but if she continues to hear voices and begins to manifest other symptoms of schizophrenia/delusions, she'll not only need the attention of a doctor but probably need to be medicated. For right now I believe you're doing the best thing you can do; Listening to her. The more open and acceptiong you are, the more likley than she'll confide in you.

I would speak to your priest! Don't think for a second that there are evil & good entities that we can't see. I am a FIRM believer in gaurdian Angels. With out them, I know, I wouldn't have survived my childhood not to mention some situations my children 'almost' were in. I don't think she is lying or manipulating you. I also believe that why she isn't mentioning about hearing the "voices" as much is due to fear or being "told" not to.

I know that many will think I'm "reaching" or some nut. I'm NOT! Though I'm active some what in my Catholic faith, I'm NOT someone who pushes others to convert! But there are MANY incidinces of similar situations that even scintist and atheist can't explain! Don't ignore, don't assume, & DON't think you can handle it by yourself! Thankfully it seems, for now, their is a good 'entity' around her. BUT if it is what it sounds like, to me, the good 'entity' will eventually be muted by the several 'bad' entities. you never know whats in her head until you get her some help if you dont get her help soon than you ll never know what is wrong or if somthing bad is going to happen to her.YOU need to get her some help

my 16 year old boy has told when on a few occasions that he sees nasty ,violent things in his head since he was about 14. when i ask him ,hes reluctant to say much , just that he sees a man with a black mask on ,like in the old days, who chops peoples heads off and rapes and hurts people. this distresses him. the first time i knew about it, i heard banging in his room and went in to find him on the floor banging his head against the bottom of the bed. he is a nice, sensitive boy who gets on with everyone. he says these episodes last about a week and then the masked man tells him when he will be back , normally a few months later. just 2 days ago he saw the film the devil within and he has become real scared and wont be alone in any room. the first time i thought he was a lil strange, was when he was 4 years old and my mum was lookin after him and she phoned me to say he woouldnt stop crying and kept tellin her i wasnt his real mummy, she was blonde(i am dark) and her name was hailey and his dad was x. when i asked him about this,he said the same thing, then said his name was micheal (is not) and a bad man kicked him up the bum then he went flying through the clouds and into my tummy!!  he also said he had an imaginary friend called micheal. im very open to spirituality and just want to help him, he is very musically talented and im worried sick.if anyone has had anything like this happen to them please get in touch. ***@****      thanks

My bro is having the same problem. See someone thar isnt there and hearing voices. Please try to get your son some help. It can be due to mental illness. My bro tried to commit suicided but lucky we got him help in time. He cut his own neck.  And now hes healing but if you let this go on for too long it can be life lasting and he will never be ok again. Please get him help now so that it can be stop not like my brother its might be too late for him because we didnt get him sooner

I also have a 6.yo son who has never been to church or ever been exposed to any type of religion and now he is hearing voices as well, bad and good he says the good "magic man" as he calls him lives in the clouds and the bad one comes into his room at night and tells him to do bad things.. The bad magic man has red eyes and long black hair. My son shredded his sheets stabbed holes in toothpaste and other whatnots. He's become very angry and violent towards other people lately. He blames all of this on the voices in his head. He says that he sees them too. He does not watch tv so he has never been exposed to any type of violence. He is now telling me the bad magic man wants him to kill me. Then he will tell me that he would be sad if I die. Yes its scary. Yes I have made appointments with doctors. I've even tried a little of the religious rout.  I hid a bible under his dresser w/o his knowledge and the very next night he told me "mommy the bad magic man can't come through my window anymore, now he has to come through yours"  his dresser sits below the window.. kinda creepy. Anyways he also tells me that the bad voice / person wants him to hurt himself.  He has intentionally hurt himself before and actually smiled about it and his exact words were "they told me to do it" but now "they" call him names and tell him nobody likes him. I'm seriously confused here but I am going the doctor rout I just think that every little bit helps honestly so I'll be exposing him to religion to. Oh yeah he calls the bad magic man a "Demos" sometimes.. not sure, but he may be meaning a demon.. He told me the voices want him to slit his throat before and actually put his finger to his neck and made a slicing motion. I have know idea where he gets these violent thoughts from. I've already put away all sharp and dangerous objects and watch him like a hawk. He use to be such a sweet little boy. Just a confused and worried mommy trying to find answers.. My son is my whole world and I will stick with him and protect him from anything.

it seems to me that all of your children are spiritually sensitive which means they can hear and see spirits I have this gift/curse myself and do what I can to help spirits cross over but never mess with the evil ones anger and attachment enough not to cross over is a powerful thing capable of much damage and death at its strongest form I can use my energy against them because i learned how my advice find someone like the people on paranormal state science has proven that this stuff happens but the people who work firsthand with it can teach others how to use and control their powers I used to be plagued by things like this but then my karate teacher taught me how to manipulate energy and I mastered this skill best of luck.

I am a priesthood holder who has delt with this. Sometimes a  blessing will help and take care of the problem. Have faith and don't give up and be in control. Evil spirits like to mess with people if they think they have the upper hand to intimidate people. Everyone has the right to call on the mercy of Jesus Christ. If you feel that in your house, You can Command them to leave by saying "In the name of Jesus Christ Depart" They have no choice, they have to leave. They may come back and test you, be strong in Faith and Confidence, Command them to leave in Jesus Christ's name. If you get tuned into the spiritual side sometimes getting out of it may take medication to get untuned from them. Because if you think about it everyone on the earth hears them in some form and is tested and is tempted at some point. Most people just don't hear them, it passes through your mind as a thought that you decide to dismiss or to act upon. You are always in control to decide what to chose or how to react. Evil spirits try to gain the upper hand by the overall psychology of intimidation and then push you in thoughts in a certain direction. If you think about it what kind of overgrown punk as a spirit would be harassing kids. It says something about these spirits on a psychological level. You have to understand that everybody hears them in a way they just don't know it. Get your home blessed and get them a blessing.

I used to hear voices when I was younger, about 3 or so. I saw this one creature that had a bloody and gory appearance. She had a rag doll that could turn into a person, and she was also bloody. I had nightmares often and these two "visiting" often as well. I still do have this going on, and it has become more realistic, and it gets in the way of my work. I also have dreams about different ways to die, but, that's a bit off topic.
I'm glad your daughter told you, because I never told or asked anyone for help, and it got worse.
I think what you should do for your daughter is talk it out with her, have her illustrate what she feels/hears/sees. Have her get it out of her system.
What I usually do is look at- what my friends refer to it as- "creepy videos", with "scary songs". It actually helps me(Not exactly recommended for your daughter- especially if she's very young).
If none of these work, please, go seek help. Because, trust me, it will get much worse, and it will interfere with her life.
I don't think she has a mental illness, I think it's just a different way of seeing things.... Or thinking. It could also just be her imagination playing a few tricks- which, if she is young, I can see happening. Your imagination runs wild during that time.
Aside from all that, though, if I were you, I wouldn't exactly panic, but I'd keep an eye on her.

I say believe every word she SAYS........ whether you believe in a spiritual realm or not....Kids see things we cannot see....as they are open to it.....more than Adults are........

Sometimes its Angelic or sometimes Demonic.....
Just pray with her every night....If you are christian and stuff........And tell her that if she is every frightenend to pray as well xxx in Jesus name.....

Keep an eye on her and listen at all times x x x
