MY step-daughter is 5 years old. Her mother is currently in jail and will be for a long time. But her mother has been in and out of her life since she was born due to drugs. Recenlty she has been talking to her mother on the phone and some behaviors have come afterwards. Whenever she gets into trouble she will through a tantrumTemper tantrums, cryingColic and crying Crying in infancy, and stomp around and lately she has begun hitting herself. I am very worried about this. She already doesn't sleep becuase she lays awake worrying about her mother. We try to tell her it's not your fault mommy is gone and mommy is ok where she is. But the hitting herself is new! After every phone call her behavior goes down hill! It currently is court ordered that she talks to her 3-4 times a week but since we all have cell phones in our house and no land line she only talks to her maybe once a week whenever she goes up to her grandparents house - her mothers parents. Any advice??? We do have her seeing a psycologist but he wont be in for another day so I wont be hearingAge-related hearing loss Audiology Hearing loss Hearing or speech impairment - resources back from him till then.
