5 year old out of control

Hi, I have a 5 year old daughter and a 2 month old.  Recently my 5 year old has been acting out. She has terriable tantrums, yelling, hitting, bitting, colouring on the walls, swearing, and even telling me she wants to kill me.  My husband is gone away for work a lot of the time, so I am here trying to handle her, and take care of the baby.  I don't know if this behavior is a result of being jealous over the baby or if something is wrong.  She usually has an out burst after I say no to something.  I give her lots of 1 on 1 time, involve with tasks and include her when I am tending to the baby.  I don't know what to do anymore, because this is happening on a daily basis.

Yes you are correct your daughter is jealous, and keep up giving her a lot of attention however ,she still needs boundaries so use the time out method, sit her on a chair and tell her to stay there till she is quiet and sorry, she will yell, ignore that and if she gets off the chair with no talking, put her back, over and over if you have to.When your husband is at home let him do activitys with her energetic ones some ball games and does he by any chance "Jump Rope"  anyway he could watch and applaud, get him involved.There is nothing wrong that better Parent/Child interaction wont help.
