5 yr old stopped eating

My 5yr old son has always been a good eater.  Pretty much eats anything.  For the last 2 weeks he has been eating very little, chewing it forever and then seems to have a problem swallowing it.  He doesn't complain of a sore throat or stomach ache.  We took him to the doctor to check and see if he had strep.  He didn't.  He was a little stuffy and the doctor gave him Flonase to help clear things out in the hopes this would help.  She said to give it a week and then give her a call.  My son had a cold a few weeks back with a gagging cough and wonder if he has psyched himself out that if he eats he will gag?  I am really worried for him and also frustrated.

Is he still taking the flonase as that could have impeded his appetite, ? It is worrysome but if he seems well now maybe lessen your reaction to it when he gags.,as you said he could be worried that the swallowing will make him Gag, try not watching him eat and say nothing, see if it stops.
