Thanks for your advice I think it will really help me in future too as my son grows up.

I was always under the impression masturbating was a natural response and a means that your son is discovering his body. We grow up, have girl or boyfriends, children and yes SEX.
I do not feel fear tactics will necessarily work. My 13 year old asked me last week if I would be angry if he told me he masturbated himself and asked me if it was wrong. I simply asked him do you use your own wrist or force your sister. He answered my own and told me he would never do that to his sister that pedofiles are bad.
I told my son to get in the car. Since I took sex ed in college I did not want him to think sex was dirty and took him to the pharmacy where there is a doctor available and had the doctor recomend a good book on boys body and their developement.
I think it worked. My son just opened up about girls he thought were cute. By not overreacting I hope my son can come to me to learn about a condom before his future girlfriend gets pregnant. Ignorance is a treat to our children. but that is just my opinion
thanks
