6 year old boy behavior on the school bus

My son turned 6 in July and is attending Kindergarten this year.  He is behaving fine in school but seams to be getting into trouble on the school bus.  If something happens to him he will retaliate.  Someone pulled his finger back and he spit/blew araspberry at them, someone pinched his arm and he squezzed back.   I am concerned that he is very impulsive and isnt' thinking before acting.  I don't want him to feel like he is being walked all over, but I also don't want him to hurt someone else, get himself in trouble and/or kicked off the bus.  He is a good kid with lots of friends and I don't know if this is normal for 6 year old boys or if needs behavior coaching.

It's not normal for the children to attack your boy- it is plenty normal for him to defend himself- glad he is holding his own---- the other kiddos that are instigating the problems would be kicked off in our district.

What's going on on that bus?  All the things he is doing seem to be a fair retaliation for things that are done to him.  Isn't anyone in control?

Can you take him to school and pick him up?  It really sounds like this bus is bedlam.
