6 year old son hits himself out of frustration.

by nicowings75, Aug 10, 2008 09:06PM
I have recently noticed that when my 6 year old son loses at a game, he will get frustrated to the point that he clinches his fists then hits himself in the face or on top of his head. He tells me that he doesn't know why he's doing it and that he thinks something is wrong with his brain. This is recent behavior for him. His father and I have been divorced a little over 3 years. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why he is hitting himself?

This discussion is related to easily frustrated 7 year old.

My son has been doing the same thing -- six years old, AND he says there must be something wrong with his brain.  What gives?
