6.5 yr old Behavior Concerns - Help

My twin son displays inconsistent behavior along with social issues. Some weeks he receives good conduct and others he gets bad (about 30% of time).  I was approached at school about getting him tested last yr but did not see the problem, until now.  He was/is doing well academically so I viewed it as a way to put him in sp ed classes. Now I am getting very concerned b/c I am noticing things at home especially his interaction with his twin. He withdraws socially, wants to play by himself more often, plays sports but sometimes does not act concerned/not driven to win, tends to hit toys together, acts very immature... often crying during conflict, shows some impulsive behavior..especially with how his clothes fit, sensory sensitivity (lights in AM/chewing sounds bother him), often looks away when talking to me, speaks loud but not monotone to me, has problem being creativity in his thoughts (ex. difficult to formualte a fiction story on his own from looking at active picture), and communicating in general...particularly an argument with peers. He has been diagnosed by outside speech therapist with expressive/receptive disorder...received therapy for 1 yr... scores were pretty good so we discontinued home therapy.  Therapist did not express other concerns...she is young in her career.  Current 1st grade teacher has not expressed any concerns other than his off/on behavior...young teacher.  What do you guess his problem is? What do you suggest I do at this point?  Have I let too much time lapse for treatment to be an option?  Can he overcome any of these?  Could it be that the school has given upon me since I did not respond the 1st time and therefore are not bringing up concerns about him this year? What to do?  Worried Mom

I don't think there is a problem.  He sounds like a normal kid to me.    What exactly did the school think the problem was?
