6yo Female having issues in class

I have a 6 yo daughter.  She is extremely bright and a nice polite child.  She is in first grade and she can not seem to stay out of trouble.  She is constantly talking or doing little things to disrupt the class. I think the issue is she is bored.  I have spoken to her teacher and the teacher agreed to give her extra homework, but extra homework is not the issue.  The issue is that the work they are doing, she knows, she is doing 2nd and thrid grade level math and she reads and comprehends at a second grade level, her spoken language skills are adult level.  I can not afford to put her in private school, and I am getting resistance from the school on having her advanced or giveing her a high level of work in the classroom.   I am at a loss as to what to do.  She has been tested and we have spoken to her doctors, this is not an ADD issue.  Any suggestions.

Your school doesn't have a gifted program?  Many schools in the US offer this but as levies have forced cutbacks everywhere---- these programs can go by the wayside.  If the teacher honestly agrees that she is just bored and not having behavior issues----  in schools that I  know of where the gifted program has been curtailed, the teacher provides the advanced work for the kids.  She is most likely not the only child like this-----  as gifted programs aren't usually small.  They test prior to a child having this work to make sure they are indeed "gifted" as many parents think this of their children.  But if she tests that she does, then I would ask them to provide the work in her current classroom.   I do think advancing a child young of age into a class where her peers are older is a mistake.  Maturity is important to do this and obviously with current actions in her classroom, she may not be mature enough.  She will have to interact with her classmates and younger children often have a tough time socially.  My friend advanced her child by a year and her 1st and 2nd grade year were very difficult for this reason.  She also then went from the gifted bored child in her age level to middle of the pack acedemically with the older kids.  She's in 3rd grade now and things are going much better and she is now very social but it was a big maturity curve to get there.  That's just my opinion.  You have to work with the people at school, so it is best to have a team attitude when dealing with them and know your rights.  Then you can advocate for your child to get what she needs.  The school couselor may be a good resource as well.  Maybe something else is going on that you don't know about.  (classroom dynamic, other issues with kids or teacher, etc. or psychological.)  Good luck and I hope you find the right fit for her.
