7 year w/ bowel accidents for 6+ months

My daughter has been having BM accidents for several months on a regular basis. We have taken her to the doctor a couple times and each time he says she is just constipated, but we have given her stool softeners and they don't make a difference.  I have read up on this quite a bit, and there has been no dramatic events in her life ~ both parents are together and we have a happy home.
So if it is not constipation, or repression of events, what else could it be?

It sounds like the problem is exactly what the doctor said it is - recurrent constipation. Ask the doctor for a KUB - it is possible that there is some impaction that has not been identified. If so, a cleanout regimen will have to occur and several months of treatment with stool softeners and/or laxatives after that. This is a slow, gradual process.
