71/2 year old sexual exploration?

by samantha94920, Apr 13, 2009 07:54PM
my son (5) was at a friends house and went to use the restroom. an older child at the home (7 1/2) followed him in the restroom and after my son went to the restroom the older boy kissed my sons penis at butt. My son seems unphased by it, we told him it was wrong & that he should not let people go into the bathroom with him.

We have talked to the parents, they have talked to thier son, we are both not sure where to go from here. We have had a big talk with our son that it is wrong (although we had the talk before we used this as another time to reiterate it.)

I am afraid my son might repeat it now even though he knows it is wrong- I have faith in him but am worried. I am also worried he will talk about it at school. Should I tell his teacher about the situation? (pre-k)

Where do we go from here? Is this normal?

I think it was dealt with correctly the other parent will get to the bottom of the reason the older boy did this, maybe let it go, I doubt if the one time has done a lot of damage ,you have talked to him about it ,i think it is normal for your son not to be concerned children accept and get over things easier than we do. It is difficult when an older child follows them into the bathroom, you could tell him if anyone follows him again he should leave the bathroom and tell the Mom of the friend, the other parents need to check where their son  has learned this behavior ,yes some would say it was normal but I can understand you not wanting him to copy it. Good Luck
