7YR OLD AUTISTIC SON IS HOLDING HIS BM

I have twin boys who are 7yrs old and both Autistic.  We potty trained for 3yrs until finally we decided to just do it, and stick to it.  My son Cullen has Synsory Dysfunction as well.  It is he that I am having a difficult time with.  He is on Gluten/Casien free diet, and vitamin therapy.  He gets extra fiber twice a day.  He won't take any other laxative.  I got an organic kids laxitive mixed it in his juice, and nothing happens.  He has the urge to go thru out the day, but he holds it.  I think he's so scared that its going to hurt that he avoids going.  Now we are at a point, that it is getting really serious.  He had a nice BM a week ago, a few days after that he had a few accidents in his pants.  I feel it's an emotiona/psycolocigal problem.  He runs when I try to take him to the potty.  I am at a loss.  I need to figure something out quick.  A visit to the hospital would be very traumatizing to him.  Please give me some advice...
Thank you,
Angie

I wish I had some guidance for how to address this quickly, but I do not. The regimen of stool softener/laxative (as long as it's done under a doctor's instruction) is useful. So you're on the right path, but you'll have to be patient and persistent.
