9 year old girl peeing on the floor

My 9 year old adopted daughter is peeing on the carpet in her bedroom again. This has been happening on and off for 4 years (She has been with us for 5 1/2). We have had her to the doctor (multiple times over the years) and they couldn't find any physical problems. She has been diagnosrd with ADHD and is on meds for that, but the doctors didn't think it was related. She doesn't wet the bed or even her clothes, she is consciously pulling down her pants and doing this. When we take away all the area rugs (that she hides it under) and check the floor every morning, it stops for a while. But then a few months later we start to smell oders again and realize it has started again. She won't tell us why she is doing it (so that we can try to change something) and when we had her in counseling, every time the counselor tried to ask her about it, she just changed the subject. I suspect it is a control issue and she does it when she doesn't get her way, but I haven't been able to confirm that and even if it is true, we don't know what to do.

I have found that its always good for parents to do some research online and ask other parents about side effects before putting the child on these meds prescribed in great abandon to children for behavioral issues.

I used to babysit a kid that did that, and they cut out dairy from his diet and it helped a lot.

And yes, ADHD meds can sure increase obsessive behaviors in some.

Seems as it is an obsessive thing to do, obsessive behaviors can vere well be co-morbid with ADHD. My son went through the stage around age of 6 where he would have "accidents" with the same babysitter, at her house only. It is certain time of the day, certain place?

Meanwhile, supervise her closely enough to break the "pattern". I really doubt she will look you straight in the eye and pull down her pants.

I think that if you do some research regarding the med she is on you may find the behavior is a side effect of taking these meds that are very powerful..
