ADHD and ticks

My son is a very active child ,veeery active, yet once he has found something that interrests him greatly he will stay in one place and focus on that perticular thing. My sons father has ADHD and there are several other disorders in the family on his side. I always accepted the fract that there would be a great possibility that my son would have ADHD as well,.
I waited until he went to kindergarden and showed struggling academically, and in his behaviour, communicating with the teacher helped.
My son was put on medication and has been on it since, we had to adjust the dosage  and even switch Meds as well. He was doin exceptionally well with it. He is 9 years old now, he is an A B student and even made honor role.
Yet the tick he had since he was a toddler increased over the years even intensified, at first we thought that was from the meds, but after taking him off for a while and changing the meds they remained. Will he out grow them as he gets older? He just can not do without his meds, completely disfunctional socially and academically. We do not want to add any more meds either, what should we do?

I noticed no one has replied and since I just gave this information to another Mom who needed help with her childs possible ADHD, I figured I could offer you this. I totally agree with the idea of not going back to meds so you could try this:

My favorite holisic Doctor, Dr.Mercola, who is located in California has an amazing website that is over loaded with tons of information and articles on basically anything you want to know. I found this one particular one for the other Mom who needed information too, and it was called "New Effective, Non-Drug Treatments for ADHD ", so if you go to his website... w w w. mercola. c o m...   and type in that articles name into the search bar, it will take you to the article and give you a ton of very useful information that could definately help you in your quest for safer treatment without the risks of meds. I hope this helps!
