Abnormal Two Year Old Sexual Behavior

I have a two year old daughter that will be 3 in May.  I recently have caught her sneaking around and pulling up her pants when I catch her, like she know that she is doing something wrong.  I know sexual curiosity is normal at her age, but her Grandparent's babysit her while I am at work and they have four dogs.  I walked in the bedroom and caught her laying down in the floor while she let the dog lick her private.  This is the second time it has happened and I am extremely concerned.  Is this normal? PLEASE HELP!!!!

There is NO reason to think that the behavior you described in an of itself is abnormal. Most likely, she has discovered that it feels good and so it continues. Children who have been abused usually show a preoccupation with sex and/or  masturbate compulsively. She needs to be redirected when it happens and better supervised by your parents when the dogs are there. Take a deep breath and ask her if it feels good. If she is honest and says yes, gently tell her that it is private (which at 2 she won't be able to fully comprehend) and people don't usually have dogs lick their privates. Act just as you would if she picked up a bead and tried to put it in her ear. The only thing that makes us unable to react calmly is that it has the dimension of sex.

Abnormal, yes, but not as uncommon as you think. Dogs naturally put there noses in that area, and sometimes the idea just appears. I've caught my younger sister doing this.
