Adderoll's effect on stuttering

Adderoll's effect on stuttering

A student of ours has recently been put on Adderoll for his ADHD.  Since the Adderoll has be prescribed, he shows signs of increased stuttering in the classroom, as well as at home.  The child is now starting to come to his teacher, concerned about not being able to "get things out."  The other children in the classroom never have commented on this student's speech until a recent episode (after the administration of Adderoll).  They laughed aloud, creating a very uncomfortable situation for the student.  Does Adderoll have a negative effect on this child's stuttering?  Pre-Adderoll, he stuttered very minimally.

While this particular side effect would not be predicted, the results probably speak for themselves. It will be relatively easy to determine the association between Adderall (adderrall) and the increase in stuttering. The prescribing clinician should be consulted, and very likely a plan will be forthcoming to discontinue the medication for a time and see if the child's baseline manner of speaking returns. Other medications can be employed if this effect can be attributed to the Adderall (adderrall) (which is a type of stimulant compound which combines Methylphenidate and Dextroamphetamine).

adderall also causes, for me, soreness in my back and neck and a strong depression when I am coming off the drug.
