Agenesis of Corpus Collosum

Agenesis of Corpus Collosum

My son was just diagnosed with Agenesis of Corpus Collosum. He was born without the Splenium. What is the function of the Splenium? Most of the behavior and social issues we were told told he could have were dismissed during extensive psychological testing. His only issues are recurring seizures and ADHD.

The Corpus Collosum is a dense buddle of nerves that joins the right and left cerebral hemispheres, and the Splenium is the rear portion of the Corpus Collosum. The chief function of this brain structure is to permit communication between the two halves of the brain.
