Asperger Teen Aggressiveness

Asperger Teen Aggressiveness

My Asperger teen is becoming more aggressive as he gets older. His tolerance for being picked on and being held accountable for chores and homework at home. I have been battling the school district for four years to classify him as a special education student with Asperger's who needs social skills training. All they are willing to classify him as is emotionally disturbed. He sees a psychiatrist regularly and is on medication for his impulsivity, perseverating thoughts, and depression. I just don't know what I can do to help him if the school is not going to provide him with the kinds of assistance he needs. Any ideas?

Specialty,  I'm kind of confused.  Are you saying the school district doesn't recognize or agree with his diagnosis of Aspergers?

By having him classified as ED,  will he have the kinds of services available that you are trying to get for him?

Do they offer other students the assistance you are asking for?

Best wishes.  All boys become more aggressive in teen years,  but it's a special challenge for kids with disabilities.
