Autistic Sons

by covinla1, Aug 24, 2003 12:00AM
I have two Autistic boys, 8 and 6. My wife I think is to protective of them, she even goes as far as to say that I can not take them anywhere alone, she is afraid something might happen, getting lost or something. I can not even take them to my parents house. I am beginning to get a little distant in my feelings for my wife due to this. Is there anything that I can do?

Definitely discuss this with your wife, and calmy explain how the difference about this matter is having an impact on your relationship with her. If you can't resolve this, seek out a brief course of marriage counseling - it will likely benefit you. When I say this, I'm assuming you and your wife are together, of course.
