BM accidents at 4 years old

My girlfriends daughter is 4 years old and has been potty trained for over a year now and just recently started having accidents again. Most of the time it is when we are getting ready to do something fun for her, or leave on a trip. My GF was going to take her to see a movie and as they were walking out the door she had a BM in her pants. A couple days later we were leaving for the beach, and as we were walking out the door she had an accident in her pants again.

I wasnt sure if kids can get excited and not be able to control going? Also her BM's are a hard beginning followed by diahrea. I read that this could be a form of constipation. So is maybe the accidents from not wanting to go until it is to late?

We are both just really at our end on this one and my mom had no advice on this one either.

Yes, it is very likely that she has been constipated. Her pediatrician should evaluate her. He may order a KUB, a type of x-ray that can determine of her bowels are impacted.
