Baby's night crying

why does our 3 years old child cries while sleeping at night without any reason?

There is always a reason for crying - at this point, you're just not aware of it.  Any ideas?

My son does the same, but he is much younger.  Sometimes the sleep center in the brain can transition to a lighter sleep period and unconscious thoughts can be acted out because they are in that transition sleep.  My STRONG opinion is to let them cry through it unless they completely wake up, then go into the room.  Otherwise you will be 'teaching' the brain that these transition periods are normal and it will get worse!!

Has the child started a new pre school or had a new sitter, sometimes if they have had some changes in their Daytime routine it could cause an upset in their minds you dont give enough information on the daytime life of your child.
