Bathroom Problems

Please help...we have a 9 year old son and since he was 3 urinates and deficates in his bedroom at times,  No rhyme or reason as to why, he does not know why he does it and no matter the punishment (spank, grounding etc) he keeps doing it.  He has been fully toilet trained since he was 2.  He does not wet the bed but will urinate or deficate in his room, in the closet under his bed on his laundry etc.  We have asked the doctor what to do or why he is doing it and he has no answer for us.  We have had to rip out the carpet in his room and throw out many toys and some clothes.  There is no cycle to when he does it.  He does it in the morning, evening sometimes during the day.  The other problem we have is he constantly urinates with the toilet seat down which causes him to urinate on the seat and floor.  He will leave it there until the next person has to use the bathroom and they fine the mess.  When our son is confronted about it he says that he did not do it.
Please help

Peeing on the toilet seat,  and on the floor in front of the toilet is something sloppy boys do.  Just discount that - it's normal.

Peeing in his room is rage.

Do you know what he's angry about?

I have a son with the same problem. I don't understand it and have been to many doctors and no one seems to have an answer. At first I thought it was lazieness and now I realize that the problem is alot deeper. I still am in my search for answers and doctors just look at you like your stupid. Have you had any luck with any answers for your son?

If he were my son I would have had him in counseling years ago. I really think he needs help. I am suprised that your doctors didn't tell you to put him in counseling.

If you don't have insurance or the money for counseling, usually each county has a free or income based clinic to help you.

There is help if you will seek it.
