Blinking his eyes

My 4 year old a week and a half ago started blinking his eyes.  Worried I took him to his ped. and he got eyedrops thinking it maybe related to allergies.  Mind you my son had a full work up on allergies this past summer do to his asthma.  So not to my suprise they did not work.  Today we went to the ped. eye doctor and again nothing wrong.  I already read the email at the begining of this website and I have some different factors.  My son has a speach therapist and  Occupational therapist.  He has auditory proccesing issue along with sensory issues.  He also has a behavioral issues.  Not sure if this is something more and I try my best not to dwell on this and to discuss this in front of him.  I am wondering if there is any suggestion on where to go from here?!

I have a cousin who is 16 years old now.She blinks when she thinks and speaks like when she is narrating an incident that happened before. She doesn't feel her blinking the eyes. While she blinks her pupils go up too. When she looks at someone's face and talks directly she doesn't blink but the moment she removes her attention from the listener's face while she talks she starts blinking. Please let me know the reason.

try and track WHEN he does it most.  if he's talking to strangers and he's doing it more than when he talks to you.  its just stress, i have rapid blinking (i just call it my blink) and i've been to psychologists, neurologists, pediatricians (I'm 22 now btw) and they all went, 'shes FINE'   a friend asked me how i know (besides the doctors) its not something more serious, and i know because my blink gets LESS in the summer (when i'm not stressed about school and such).
hope that helps

Hello there,
I have a niece who is so very, very hyper active.  Of course, when I bring up to my brother that she should see a doctor about it, he just shrugs it off.  But, she also blinks her eyes rapidly.  She was prescribed a pair of eye glasses recently, but I have noticed she still continues to blink at times when she is overly excited or just plain high strung about something.  As her moods change and I am sure her blood is racing, you can't imagine how hyper this girl can get, her eyes just start blinking.  It does bother me my brother won't do anything to seek help for her, but good luck.

Hmm, considering his having both a speech and occupational therapist, including having behavioral issues my personal opinion is obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).  Of course I'm no expert, but I too have OCD and had speech problems growing up due to hearing.  This may be his way of venting or balancing his frustration when attempting to communicate to others in a comprehensive manner.  Does he only blink rapidly when speaking or doing something?  I think you should ask why he blinks as often as he does, of course in a kind way and see what he says.  Ask him if he realizes blinking the way he does, and ask him if he feels if he doesn't do it, something bad will happen.  Let me know he response and reaction.
