Brand New need Depression Advice

I have never posted on the parenting forums.  So happy to see there is one.  I am a pain patient so usually over on pain management but thought that maybe some of you would understand depression caused by post pardom that I got over but now I feel like the world is caving in again.  My youngest is almost three.  Only had the PPD after him.  I have been off depression meds for a year and a half.  I do take meds for pain but have for years due to Pelvic Congession Syndrom (syndrome).
My kids are boy 7, girl almost 6, and boy almost 3.  I am a VERY full time stay at home mom.  My husband travels, I lost my brother in law in a very tragic accident just under two years ago that was similar to loosing my dad when I was just 10 years old.  I am now facing loosing two of my grandmothers.  One who lives here and one in another state.  I am going to fly myself and my oldest son to see her next week for four days.  I don't fly well because my father was killed in a plane crash when I was a child.  I don't do well at leaving my children ever and that is why I am really stressed.  NO ME TIME I actually don't even know what me time is.
Anyone want to help me through this hard patch.  My kids are feeding off my negitive energy and I don't even feel like getting out of bed in the morning.  I am usually super mom but not this week.

Well, people can have a good case of the blues.  This is different than depression as it is situational and short term.  A week.  Depression is a different situation in which a person has symptoms for at least 2 weeks according to DSM 4 criteria.  Situations can push us into depression but true depression is an issue with brain chemistry.  That is why medication is required to correct that.  Sounds to me like you may be in a situation to need an antidepressant.  There is nothing wrong with that and why suffer if you don't have to?  There are no heroes here.  One in every 4 American adults take an antidepressant, it is now a common issue.  So, call your doctor.  I think that it is fine to see your GP for depression medication but I'd also get yourself scheduled for some talk therapy with a psychologist.  Talk therapy combined with medication is the best way to overcome depression.  You have a lot going on in your life and you need to take care of yourself and your health.  Your frame of mind is part of that.  So please call your doctor and set up an appointment and find a therapist as well.  Remember, PDD puts you at a much greater risk for future clinical depression and it sounds like you are headed down that path.  Act now to stop it.  Good luck and sorry about your past loss of your brother in law and the illnesses of your Grandmothers.

I think you need to be proactive and get back into see your doctor as it seems like the depression is recurring.  Once you have a depressive episode you are prone to further episodes in life.  Many people have constant treatement for depression.  Also dealing alone with all those kids all the time nad being home all the time is tough, it's tough for anyone.  And you have other stressors too, people sick in teh family, etc. I would just get some help for it, can you talk to a counselor too, you have some issues from previous deaths of family members too.

I hope you do something soon.

Thanks for the advice.  I have been to see docs in the past and councelors, pain phycologists etc.  I have talked about the loss of my family members till I was blue in the face.  I got out to the lake this weekend and my husband was very very stressed.  I was able to be there for him and that helped me to feel a bit better.  I just have so much going on right now.  I really don't think or hope I don't need an antidepression med.  I didn't like being on them in the past I felt like a walking zombie.  I just have to take it one day at a time and see how I do after my trip out to visit my grandma this week.  Then I am getting a trip away with hubby so if I still feel bad after that I will see my doc
