Complications of new born resusitation

What exactly is new born resusitation and what are the complications of it? My oldest son has had problems in school his whole life and someone told me it might be due to the new born resusitation!

Some babies at birth are not able to breathe alone and require administration of oxygen and assistance with ventilation. Depending on the circumstances, lack of sufficient oxygen at birth can contribute to difficulties with the functioning of the brain and can be a contributing factor to learning problems. The difficulties would not be due to the resuscitation itself, but rather to the lack of oxygen which resulted in the need for the resuscitation.
