Compulsive behavior

My daughter (almost 4 years old) has a stuffed animal that she constantly picks the "fur" off of it.  The picking is usually fast and repetitive, whenever she is holding her stuffed toy.  She will pick at the toy even if she seems relaxed, but when she is stressed or upset, her behavior intensifies.

She is also very attached to me and gets upset when I have to leave and is very concerned about her schedule (asks me every day "where are we going tomorrow".  She wants to be right with me (even if I'm just taking a shower, she is in the bathroom with me).  Also, every night she leaves her room and comes to sleep in bed with me or on the floor next to our bed.

Please help with any ideas or suggestions. I don't know if I should be concerned.

Thank you so much!

Lisa,

Does she have a babysitter that you leave her with during the day?  Has she expressed not wanting to be near certain people or do you notice a change in her behaviour when certain people are around you?

Yes, she does have a daycare provider (my husband drops her off and picks her up) and she is completely fine and happy.  But as soon as she sees me when she gets home, her mood changes.  Today she pushed her 6 year old sister trying to get out of the truck so she could to get to me first.  When it's just her and I, she is happy and relaxed. Thank you.
