Controlling Anger

I have an 8 year old son and he's a wonderful person but cannot take any kind of teasing or criticism.  He angers VERY quickly and immediately acts on his emotions.  Last night at soccer, he ran up to a boy and punched him right in the face, ran off and said he never wanted to play soccer again........but then by the time he went to bed, he was fine and told me he was sorry.

If we correct his math or pronunciation of words, he runs in his room or outside.  How do I stop the adreniline rush he feels and acts on?

Children dont take to teasing too well so perhaaps whoever is doing the teasing could change it into some positive attention ,When he punched the boy at soccer you needed to speak most severly to him and tell him it is not permitted, did he apologise to the child? Focus on his positive side and praise him whan he does something right children respond to positive attention and perhaps you could let up on any criticism.
