Cries when wiped during diaper change

I have a friend who is upset becuase her one year old scream when he is wiped during a diaper change. The little boy has eczema but she says that he has no rash or anything down there. He doesn't mind having the diaper taken off of him but as soon as he is touched with the wet wipe he screams. Is this normal and something he will grow out of? or should she suspect something else is going on?

Tell her to use warm water and paper towels and see if that makes a difference.  Commercial diaper wipes can hurt,  and you can't even see a rash.

This would be an outside chance- as a female of course I knew the signs and symptoms of uti's but once my son- although he was 4 or 5 was able to tell me over a period of a week or so that his groin area hurt and I was a single mom and well ya still gotta look to see like you said- I mean dad is gone- I would have much preferred not inspecting- anywaysssss- I let the doctor check him out the next day and the area was sore due to Urinary infection- Would have never thought it would feel as if the groin area were tender
??? Just a thought recently retrieved from my wacky memory- may help/ may not

Just a week or two. I agree with you. I don't think she should be worried but I told her I'd post something on this site n see if anyone says it's something normal that boys just go through

I think there would still be signs if the father is doing something he shouldnt there would be redness and irritation. How long has the child been acting this way

His dad changes him. She is wondering if she should suspect foul play since his dad is bisexual. It's freaking her out. I'll pass along the word to try wet wipes

Forget the wet wipes warm water is best , and gentle ,who else changes him and are they as gentle as his Mom would be ,these are sensitive areas we are talking about.

well she hasn't changed the baby wipes since he was born. And this crying just started within the last week or so. She said she has looked for any sign of redness and can't find anything. But I'll def suggest sensitive wipes

What is she using to wipe him with it sounds like she mite be hurting him. I would be concerned. Have her try using sensitive wipes or a wet wash cloth instead.
