Curious boy

Hello,

I have a son who will be 5 in February. A "good buddy" of his down the street (He turns 7 today) showed my son his penis in his mom and dad's bathroom 4 days ago. I know this because my son came to me and told me. I responded calmly and told him that that is inappropriate to do ... (reminded him about the whole our privates are our privates conversation). He said he did not reveal his private parts. This was the first time I had let him go to his house without me in a quite a while as I feel I would like to be the one supervising them as (now confirmed!) I wasn't sure if they were all that supervised there.

Anyway, should I be worried for this boy? I feel strongly that I will not allow my son to play over there unsupervised and I wish the 2 of them would now fade away from each other as this is just another reason I don't think they are the perfect playmates (2 years is a big difference in age in my opinion, especially at this age).

Please give me any insight into why the 7 yr old would have done this. And any additional pointers for my boy.

I will not attempt to speculate on the boy's behavior beyond noting that, at his age, it is not regarded as normal young-child curiosity. It is important to inform the boy's parents about what occurred, just as you would want to be notified if your son behaved inapprorpiately at someone's house.
